Faster mastering on Mac
The bundled phaselimiter mastering engine has been updated from v0.4.0 to v0.5.0.
On macOS, FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) processing for frequency analysis now uses real FFTs provided by Apple’s vDSP. This speeds up mastering on Mac.
Corrected limiter calculations
We corrected the gradient scaling at the Nyquist frequency in the limiter’s optimization process. The Nyquist frequency is half the sampling rate; this fix ensures that the calculation handles that frequency component correctly.
We also added regression tests covering gradient accuracy, FFT data layouts and scaling, and filter convolution.
Fixed the playback cursor during A/B comparison
We fixed an issue where the playback cursor on the waveform failed to redraw correctly after switching between the original and mastered audio with A / B.
The screenshot and bundled sample audio have also been updated to use a CC0 recording from Kimiko Ishizaka’s Open Goldberg Variations.
